What is landscape architecture anyway?

Landscape architecture is the practice of designing spaces that include elements
of art, the natural environment, constructed architecture, engineering,
and human factors.

How do you become a landscape architect?
Landscape architects are graduates of accredited university programs, practice under licensed professionals for the first two years of employment, and must pass rigorous national and state-specific exams to earn licensure. We aspire to craft designs that not only look incredible but also conserve water, incorporate regionally-appropriate plant materials, and reflect the unique architecture and features of its immediate surroundings.

What do landscape architects do?
We work with a wide variety of clients from the conceptual design process through the final construction set for agency review and construction permitting. We sketch by hand, create 3D models, pull together material boards, and draft plans in CAD as we coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consulting parties.
